Glacier hiking gives you the chance to discover alpine terrain, high mountains and spectacular glacier without having to follow intensive climbing seminars. Our itineraries take you to some of the most renowned places in the Alps. On this trip in the Berner Oberland you will see the Eiger, the Jungfrau, the Aletsch glacier and the Concordia square before traversing at the foot of the Finsteraarhorn into the Grimsel Eldorado .
We overnight in mountain huts that add a touch of authenticity to this very unique experience.
We will be hiking 4 to 5 hours per day which leaves you for a great amount of time to really enjoy the scenery, a good book and some relaxing moments.
You do not need any special preparation. Participants will be trained to glacier travelling, rope management and basic use of crampons and ice axes. A good physical training will help you enjoying your hike.

| Day 1 |
Group meeting at our hotel in Grindelwald. Your guide will discuss the trip’s program with you and check out your equipment before dinner. |
| Day 2 |
Morning train ride to the Jungfraujoch (11333 ft). This exciting journey will take us to the Kleine Scheidegg offering great views on the Eiger North face. From there the train reaches the Jungfraujoch by an incredible tunnel through the Eiger itself. From the train, easy glacier travel to the Mönchjoch Hütte. We will use this first day as a chance to acclimatize, get familiar with your equipment and review some basic mountaineering skills. |
| Day 3 |
Along the Fiesher glacier, we hike to the Concordia hut, overlooking the majestuous Aletsch Glacier. The site has been placed under the protection of the UNESCO as a world patrimony. Beautiful views on the Aletschhorn, the Fiescherhorn and Grünhorn, all peaks summiting over 14’000 feet. |
| Day 4 |
By the Grünhornlücke, traverse to the Finsteraarhorn hut. This comfortable modern hut is surrounded by stunning glaciers flowing out into the valley in spectacular ice falls and crevasses. You will measure the great feeling of exclusiveness that such a unique environment can provide to the visitor. |
| Day 5 |
Around the base of the Finsteraarhorn we will continue our journey to the east. After crossing the Oberaarjoch we will hike out to the Grimsel lakes and Hospiz. Drive back to Grindelwald.
