|| Walking directly from the hotel to Le Tour
at the head of the valley, we ascend to the Col du Balme
(2186m) and drop down to Trient in Switzerland. (1300m).
||Hiking up beside the Trient Glacier, we
make a long ascent to the Fenetre d'Arpette (2670m). It's
then steeply down to our overnight halt in the village

||Descending via Champex into the Val des
Bagnes, we take the cable-car up to Verbier and from there
make the short walk to the Mont Fort Refuge (2457m).
||Today we cross 3 high cols, with spectacular
views throughout. The highest is the Col de Prafleuri
(2987m) beyond which we descend to the Cabane de Prafleuri
||We cross the Col de Roux to reach Lac de
Dix. We then make a steep ascent to the Col de Riedmatten,
before dropping down to Arolla and our bed for the night.
||An easy day, traversing to Lac Bleu and
then making a relaxed descent through wooded gorges to
Les Hauderes. A final climb leads to the hamlet of La

(2912m) and then traverse the Col de Sorebois, with spectacular
