The Queyras is located south east of Briançon, between
les Ecrins, la Meije and Mount Viso on the Italian side. This
itinerary will give you the chance to explore this beautiful
French national park with a visit over the Italian border to
enjoy the exotic touch of the Italian albergo. A pleasant mixture
of comfortable accommodation and friendly alpine huts.
The trip starts in St Véran en Queyras. We are lodging
in a typical gîte d'étape and you will have the
chance to discover and enjoy the real atmosphere and pleasures
of French food as well as their delicious wines.
This trip is an easy trip conceived for beginners who want to
experience ski touring in a friendly environment. This itinerary
will offer you a maximum a excellent skiing with the pleasure of
comfortable accommodation. If this has to be your first trip,
it will always be on of your best memories. |

| Day 1 |
Welcoming in St Véran at the gîte
les Gabelous. Prepare equipment and review tour. Possibility
to spend some time discovering the village or practice
ski on the local ski slopes. |
| Day 2 |
Early start for our first summit, the Tête
de Jacquette (2757m) just above the Col des Estonques
on the eastern side of the St Véran valley. An
easy start for discovering the unique dimension of the
Queyras, a beautiful remote French National Park. Back
to St Véran (1850m). |
| Day 3 |
Up the St Véran Valley to the Pointe
des Sagnes Longues (3032m). Traverse to the Col de Chamoussière
before descending to the lovely Refuge Agnel (2580m).
(800m up / 650m down). |
| Day 4 |
From Agnel, traverse to the Col Vieux (2806m),
the brèche de Ruine (2908m) and the col d'Asti
(3180m), long run into Italy, to Chianale (1850m), a small
Italian village lost at the base of Mont Viso, the last
fortress in the southern Alps. We will spend the night
at the albergho Lagi Blu. |
| Day 5 |
Up the Valle di Soustra before climbing
the Pointe Joanne (3052m). Descent to the Refuge du Viso
(2463m). |

| Day 6 |
A short climb to the Col de la Traversette
(2950m) and the Monte Meidassa (3105m) before descending
the long valley to the Albergo Jervis (1750m). |
| Day 7 |
Our last day, going back to France via the
Col d'Urine (2525m) and the long descent to Valpreveyres
(1850m). Taxi Back to St Véran. |
