An exciting trip for those who have to deal with a short stay in the area but want to live an unforgettable experience. This itinerary takes us over the border of France, Switzerland and Italy. You will be travelling through a magnificent scenery, the skiing is superb and the climbs exciting, alpine skills are required for this trip, we will be on crampons for short sections in alpine terrain everyday…
This is an intermediate tour and requires a good level of fitness. Participants must be good skiers able to perform strong stem christies while carrying a pack in variable conditions: powder, hard spring snow, crud and everything in between. Previous ski touring experience is suitable and basic mountaineering skills are helpful. Your guide will be happy to teach you these skills during the tour. |

| Day 2 |
Early start, for the first cable car run to the Grands Montets (10800ft). Descent to the Argentière glacier nearly 3000 ft lower. From the glacier we will climb up to the Col du Chardonnet (10900ft), a smooth glacier guarded by the impressive granite walls of the aiguille d’Argentière and Chardonnet. A short technical and steep section and we will traverse on the wide glacier plateau towards the Refuge des Dorées (10200 ft), or the Saleina hut. |
