Chamonix Zermatt has always been the reference in ski touring. This amazing itinerary joins the greatest towns in the alpine history, crossing a beautiful alpine country made of an endless succession of peaks and glaciers. The comfortable accommodation in typical Swiss mountain hut makes it an authentic experience that on has to live once…
Some other trips may offer better skiing opportunities with longer or steeper runs but Chamonix Zermatt is by far the best for its views and atmosphere, every day brings its share of emotion and respect for this beautiful terrain. A real journey across the Alps…
This is an intermediate tour and requires a good level of fitness. Participants must be good skiers able to perform parallel turns while carrying a pack in variable conditions: powder, hard spring snow, crud and everything in between. Basic mountaineering skills are helpful. Your guide will be happy to review these skills during the tour. |

| Day 1 |
Meeting in our hotel in Argentière. Equipment
check and team meeting in the evening. |
| Day 2 |
By cable car to the Grands Montets (10800ft). Descent to the Argentière glacier nearly 3000ft lower. A short climb to the Argentière hut.
An easy day to give us some more time to acclamatise, to review alpine techniques and to set the pace for the week. |
| Day 3 |
From the glacier we will climb up to the Col du Chardonnet (10900ft), a smooth glacier guarded by the impressive granite walls of the aiguille d’Argentière and Chardonnet. A short technical section and we will traverse on the wide glacier plateau towards the Fenêtre de Saleinaz (10700ft) and the Trient hut (10400ft). |
| Day 4 |
A long day ahead of us…in the morning sun we will ski down to Champex (4800ft) via the Col des Ecandies and the Val d’Arpette. Then a taxi will take us to our next destination, Verbier. Cable car to the Mont Fort (10800ft). Via the Rosablanche (10944ft) we will reach the Prafleuri hut (8733ft). |
| Day 5 |
Along the lake des Dix, traverse and climb to the Dix hut (9606ft). If we get there in time, we can leave our packs in the hut and take advantage of an easy afternoon trip on the Luette (11640 ft), some good skiing but also a beautiful view point. |
| Day 6 |
The traverse to the Vignettes hut (9500 ft) by the Serpentine and the Pigne d’Arolla (12434 ft) is a great moment of this spectacular trip. Beautiful glacier travelling and some enjoyable skiing through crevasses and seracs. |
| Day 7 |
From les Vignettes, most people would take a day to reach Zermatt. We prefer to split this long traverse in two and enjoy the stop over in the Bertol hut (10860 ft) for a better final day. |
| Day 8 |
Easy traverse to Tête Blanche (12162 ft). Our stop in Bertol is a guarantee for better conditions for our final run to our destination, Zermatt. Beautiful skiing surrounded by the massive faces of Matterhon, Dent Blanche and the imperial crown of Zermatt. |
