The Great Traverse, as we like to call it, will take you from the southern end of the Mont Blanc range, in les Contamines, over the top to the Aiguille du Midi. A challenging climb for those who like to do it differently…

We will spend our first days in the Dômes de Miage area, practising and acclimatizing before starting the traverse over the Aiguille de Bionnassay and the Three Mont Blanc.
This trip is designed for climbers with a good physical preparation and some previous alpine climbing experience.

Day 1 Meeting in our hotel in Chamonix. Equipment check and team meeting in the afternoon.
Day 2 The trip starts by a train ride to les Contamines. We will then hike to the Hôtel de Tré la Tête (6500 feet). This old hotel has been part of the climbing history of the valley.
Day 3 Our first summit will be the Mont Tondu (10500 ft), on our way to the Refuge des Conscrits, a beautiful cosy hut. Some snow, up to 40 ° and some easy scrambling along the summit ridge (class III).
Day 4 We will start our Great Traverse by the traverse of the Dômes de Miages (12000 ft). From the hut we will first climb the Aiguille de la Berangère before following the beautiful summit ridge to the refuge Durier (11000 ft). No technical difficulties for this beautiful day but breathtaking views, with a unique feeling of touching the sky.
Day 5 An early start for a long climbing day along an exposed ridge offering some steep ice sections as well as some mixed climbing in high altitude. We will traverse the Aiguille de Bionnassay (13300 ft) to reach the normal route of Mont Blanc at the Dôme du Goûter. A short descent will take us to the refuge du Goûter.
Day 6 Our final summit day. Well acclamatized we will cruise along the Mont Blanc summit ridge (15750 ft) before descending via the col de la Brenva, Mont Maudit and back to Chamonix by the Aiguille du Midi
Day 7

Our reserve day in case of uncertain weather or difficult conditions on the mountain.
Can also be used for rock climbing or canyoning in the Chamonix area.
