One of our most exciting trip in the Swiss Alps. Out of Zermatt, we will take you along the Italian border into an incredible traverse, summiting many renowned peaks over 14’000 feet. We will be spending our nights into welcoming and exotic Italian huts, serving delicious food that has given its second name to this trip, the Spaghetti tour. If the climbs are not technically difficult they will challenge anyone wanting to practice and improve his basic mountaineering skills, such as glacier travelling, cramponning and ice axing. Staying at high altitude for a week will also improve greatly your acclimatization and this trip could be an excellent preparation for a Mont Blanc or Matterhorn climb.
If you have a solid climbing experience and want to explore the Monte Rosa take a look at our Monte Rosa Skyline. |

| Day 1 |
Meeting in our hotel in Zermatt. Equipment
check and team meeting in the afternoon. |
| Day 2 |
Early in the morning we will travel by cable car, to the Klein Matterhorn (13000 ft). Our first summit is the Breithorn, an easy snow climb that we will reach before the traverse and descent to the Rifugio Guide Val d’Ayas, for our first Italian hut experience. Day 3 O ur next objective is the Castor (13800 ft) that we will traverse after ascending its steep West Face, leading to an exciting and exposed summit ridge. The descent follows the East Ridge to the Riffugio Quitino Sella (11700 ft). |
| Day 3 |
Our next objective is the Castor (13800 ft), that we will traverse after ascending its steep West Face, leading to an exciting and exposed summit ridge. The descent follows the East Ridge to the Riffugio Quitino Sella (11700 ft). |
| Day 4 |
A beautiful day with the traverse of the Naso del Liskamm. A fantastic traverse with a short section of steep snow on the Naso, before descending to the Rif Mantova (11482 ft). Every day offers a short technical section, never difficult but always challenging, requiring your attention and giving you the chance to practice and improve your alpine technique. |
| Day 5 |
We will climb back to the Lisjoch. On our way, we can climb many peaks over 14’000 feet: The Pyramide Vincent (13828 ft), the Ludwigshöhe, the Corno Nerro, and the Parrot Spitze. Those peaks are rising over the glacier that takes us to the Signalkuppe at 14957 ft where we will spend the night in the highest hut in the entire Alps, the Rifugio Margherita. From this eagle’s nest the views are really impressive with a 360° alpine panorama. The sunset at Margherita is one of the highlight of the trip. |
|
| Day 6 |
In the morning sun we will climb Zumsteinspitze before descending along the impressive Griess glacier. One of the most exciting glacier travel in your life: route finding through deep crevasses in a spectacular environment at the base of the Monte rosa and the Liskamm with the famous Matterhorn in the far.
After a short break at the new Monte Rosa hut, we will hike back to the Gornergrat train.
