La Grave is located on the border of the Ecrins National Park in France, about 150 km east of Grenoble. This small ski resort has gained an amazing reputation for freeride in the last years.

For skiing in la Grave we take advantage of our contact there, Gary Gashurst. Gary has been skiing in la Grave for the last ten years and knows every corner and resource of this steep and demanding terrain.

Ski touring equipment and experience are recommended for better access to the most spectacular runs at the foot of the Meije.

Our freeride seminars are safety orientated. More than just a theoretical snow and avalanche course : a practical field work… Your guide will show you how to use rescue devices, how to read and understand the signs that the mountains give us.
Practical application of new skills is for us much more efficient than an out of context course. If you join us, feel free to set your objectives with your guide at the beginning of your trip, to get more than powder and meters… but also a technical background for a safer practice.

Day 1 Meeting in our hotel in La Grave.
Equipment check and team meeting in the afternoon.
Day 2 to day 6 According to conditions and weather, skiing in the La Grave and Serre Chevalier area.
Tipical runs are :

- Les Enfetchores
- Glacier du Tabuchet
- Tour de la Meije

This is an intermediate tour and requires a good level of fitness.  Participants must be good skiers able to perform strong parallel turns on steep exposed terrain in variable conditions:  powder, hard spring snow, crud and everything in between.

Basic mountaineering skills are helpful. Your guide will be happy to teach you these skills during the tour.
